I'm afraid I'm catching the flu my father has had - which was really awful - so I figured that before I start passing out and hallucinating about leprechauns riding elephants I should post photos of what's been going on around here.
Today is Maddie Kate Scarlett O'Hara's birthday!
Our little Maddie turned 9 years old, and she shares a birthday with my celebrity boyfriend (43) that has no idea he's my boyfriend.... because he's never met me before.
So I guess that technically you can almost call him my imaginary boyfriend. But can ya blame me? I mean, he comes with a Scottish soundtrack and everything.

Started putting up the Christmas tree:
We had to buy more lights again - which seems to happen every year - but I never did put them up. I've been feeling lightheaded, and earlier when I was playing with Abby the living room rug started to look like ocean waves.
I've never done drugs, so I figured I just needed to eat. Even if hunger wasn't the reason for the flowers on the living room rug suddenly coming alive and trying to eat my face, it was the perfect excuse to go to the McDonald's drive thru for french fries and an iced mocha.
Little did I know then that when Dad first got sick, the first sign of it was his vision going all crazy, but whatever... I got fries and mocha out of it so I can't complain. I'm just forcing myself to wait another day to work more on the tree. Call me a wimp, but I really don't want to take the chance of fainting/planting my face on the glass coffee table.

Dean Martin has always reminded my mother of her Dad. I don't remember him, since I was a baby when he died, but everyone says he was an entertainer. He could imitate Dean Martin and Willie Nelson's singing perfectly. Everyone says that.

It isn't done yet, and unfortunately the colors in the glitter isn't showing up in the photo.
I LOVE this glitter and it really does sparkle beautifully, so I'll have to try to take a new photo once it's all finished. I'm still deciding on how to decorate it.

My latest Christmasy craft project:
It didn't turn out anything like I wanted, but that's just what happens sometimes.
I've been giving my bedroom a little makeover lately, beginning with the bedding. Wendy Kitty has put some wear and tear on the old one, so it was time to replace it. When I saw these two quilts at Stein Mart, I fell in love. I mean, they had my favorite elements:
1). Fancy Script
2). Crowns
3). Paris(I'm a HUGE fan of Phantom of the Opera, and I already have a little table with Paris scenes).
4). Birds(Which to my surprise PERFECTLY matched a digital image/transfer I put on a bag recently... and now a chair cushion since it seems finding that transfer was meant to be).
5). My favorite color
Eventually, I'll break down and paint my room. I did try that a few months back, but with disastrous results. The paint I got from Ace Hardware was nothing at all like the sample. Instead of a pretty and soft shade of blue, it was the brightest blue I think these eyes have ever seen. Wearing sunglasses was pretty much a necessity, so I did the only logical thing I could do. I covered it up with the boring light tan that was there originally, and then chucked that little Paint Sample O' Disappointment into the trash.
This time around, I think I'll take my chances with Lowe's paint. We had a little paper sample of 3 choice colors in the laundry room - it's been taped to the wall since Spring - so I took a look at it in my room. If the actual paint looks anything like the sample, I think I'll be happy. Isn't it pretty?
I've also been perusing a lot of stores, searching for just the right picture(s) but so far I've come across a whole lot of nothing. Finally, I just did a search online for at least one pretty picture to frame. I'm pretty sure I've narrowed it down to this one poster of The Paris Opera House. I only hope that if I order it, it will look nice. I'm really not a fan of ordering things like this online. It's a lot safer to see them in person.
I would prefer finding something in a store though. I would go to Garden Ridge, but I don't think we have one anymore. It burned down a while back, and last I heard the damage was so bad they couldn't rebuild. (True Story, which is a little OT: The day before it burned down, my mother and I were there. Every time I walked down this one particular aisle, I got this stabbing pain in my head. The instant I left the aisle, the pain stopped. At the time, I just figured it was me being sensitive to high EMF but then I realized there weren't any electrical boxes or wiring right there. I've been to this store so many times, and that was the first time I experienced something like that. The next day was when it burned down, so that was unsettling).
But enough rambling. I'll just post some photos now. Just bear in mind that eventually I'll be replacing ALL that you see on the walls right now... replacing my wobbly old desk with an antique dresser... new rug... new curtains... and of course splash some color on the walls.
Just please remember to exercise your imagination here, because there's still a lot to do. This is only the beginning of the changes I wish to make.

I really want to get back into Photoshop/GIMP. Lately, I've been either stuck in a rut or totally abandoning it all. And I don't know why, but I never ever make larger wallpapers. I really would like to start trying my hand at those as well.

- Will Fall ever arrive in the south? I swear that the first day it's in the low 60's - and all day long - I'm putting up the Christmas tree.
I only hope that happens before November. I want to be able to wear a light sweater during the day. Even now, at night it's still too warm for that.
- I don't know how I managed it, but I've been a bad fan girl when it comes to my pretend boyfriend; my charming bad boy with the Scottish lilt and a love for his little pug dog, Lolita.
HOW did I ignore him for pretty much an entire year?! And look at those beautiful eyes. Did you know that sometimes they're green and sometimes they're blue?
I'm hoping to remedy my stupidity beginning this week, since he's going to be on a few tv shows. I need to watch Machine Gun Preacher, too, while it's on Netflix Instant Watch. I've been avoiding it because I know it's very graphic and a true story.
Oh! This is gonna be fun, but Gerry and Felix Baumgartner both are going to be on Jimmy Fallon the same night. (I was just telling Mom a few days ago how I bet FB will be on the talk shows now that he did his space jump. Little did I think GERRY would be interviewed as well). I hope we'll get to see them together. Gerry is an adventurous sort, too, so that would be interesting to see.
