I ♥ Highlanders

We're expecting strong storms tomorrow, so I'll be staying home with the divas. This storm is supposed to bring some cold temps again; the coldest we've had so far.

Hooray!

My poor father is supposed to receive 12 inches of snow, and my aunt 30 inches! (Dad might receive the 30 if the storm changes direction. He only lives half an hour away from my aunt). Over here, the high on Wednesday is supposed to be 36 and the low 24! On Thursday and Friday, the high will be 41!

I guess that could change, but I hope not. I love when it's cold.

Of course, I would prefer experiencing cold weather - preferably SNOW - while holed up inside one of these....

Photobucket

To keep me company would be a braw, romantic, Gaelic-speaking, time traveling Highlander such as this one....

Photobucket

Or this one...

Och! Now I'm seriously depressed. I'm gonna wash my hair and make myself a cappuccino.

Kristin ♥ The Beast!

I think I need to watch this again:

Is it just me, or is The Beast not the sexiest of all the Disney heroes? Lol! I just love him, and he's definitely my favorite.

I really wish Disney would bring back the 'classic' feel to their animated movies. The cinematography for The Princess and the Frog was similar, but it was no Beauty and the Beast.

His eyes are just gorgeous in those pictures.

I could do without the skanks in THIS picture, but Gerry looks gooood!

Sooo cute! Gerry, on his birthday I believe, with John Mayer. I swear Gerry is just a big kid. (I should feel ashamed for not keeping up with him these past few months. What kind of a fan am I?)

Wanna enter for a chance to win some scrapbooking goodies from Glitz Design?

If so, click HERE

And if you don't enter, what in the name of Mickey Mouse is wrong with you?!
Photobucket

(I'm gonna win... I'm gonna win... I'm gonna win-win-win... okay, most likely someone else will win. I do tend to torture myself when it comes to certain things in life which I NEED; mainly scrapbooking supplies, books and trips to Disney World).

One of these days I'll get around to purchasing "Love Nest" by Glitz, too. I've looked for it EVERYWHERE in stores, but it looks like this gal will have to purchase it online after all. I even did an online search last night for all stores carrying Glitz Designs in Texas. Unfortunately, the "closest" are in Dallas, Houston and Huntsville.

Sigh...

Ahhh, Mr. Knight.....
No, you could never take the place of my newest man

but once upon a time, had I not been so shy and possessing that blasted moral compass of 'Thou-shalt-not-stalk', I'd have been more than happy to have pursued you anytime/anyplace.

After reading the last of my old high school notes from old friends, last night I decided to look up a few NKOTB memories via that wonderful world of YouTube. I had forgotten just how much I used to love a few of those songs!

Then I remembered how ADORABLE that one music video was when Joe decided to go solo. The video really is cute cute Cute! (As is that little baby of his. It felt really strange seeing that he has a kid now). And just look at those baby blues of his near the end of this song! He always did have beautiful eyes.

By accident, I stumbled upon a song by him that I'd never heard of. (I haven't heard ANY of those guy's stuff since back in 1994). I was really loving this song and video until that stupid, annoying microphone effect clobbered his voice.

Click HERE to see it since YouTube disabled embedding the video.

And you know what? Joe could be the next Michael Buble if he wanted. He's always loved singing the old songs anyway; Frank Sinatra being his hero and all:

And um... the lyrics to the video below are suggestive but that Jordan can DANCE! I really can't understand why he isn't on Dancing with the Stars like Joe was. I'd start watching that show if only he were a contestant.

Jordan always did have the nicest voice and moves; natural talent. I wasn't a big fan of the falsetto, but he does have a great voice.

Okay, I was just looking at more videos so I HAVE to share this one as well. The official video was stupid, so I'll post this one instead:

I LOVED Jordan's voice in this song soooo much!!! The video was dumb because they were trying to take the polish off their image. (Joe looked like a kid playing dress up on Halloween, and JON in that skanky video.... wuh-huh?! Jon was a sweetheart and just plain too mature to be in a video like that). Also, I find it amusing that the song is about how their girlfriend is a skank, so she's gonna be dumped... yet they're hanging out with a whole slew of skanks anyway.

I think I've found an easy career to pursue. I'll just make music videos for a living. (Do they even make music videos still? Even MTV doesn't seem to play music anymore).

Taciturn Kitty, Books and Ghosts

"Cats' hearing apparatus is built to allow the human voice to easily go in one ear and out the other."- Stephen Baker

Photobucket

The above quote is true because I've been begging Wendy Kitty, and for months, to meow just once. She hasn't made a peep since October!

She's always been a quiet little thing; so quiet that most times when she DOES meow she does it with her mouth closed. Lol! (It's actually really cute. It's strange, yet endearing. I need to get that on film someday). But if she ever makes a sound, it's only purring, snoring in her sleep or hissing at her mother.

It's like she's suddenly Ariel from The Little Mermaid. I'm beginning to wonder if Wendy is in love with a human, and she's struck a deal of her own with some evil Ursula-type character whom stole her voice as collateral should her magic go awry.

Or maybe her reason for being mute is something more spiritual; a vow of silence maybe? Photobucket

Wendy has always been strange - daily, I find her eating the dog food and she won't drink out of the water bowl unless it's tipped over on one side - but I don't think she's ever gone this long without making a peep. It seems so unnatural.

Being a cat, she's probably doing it on purpose. Every single day that I ask her to speak, and she doesn't, she's probably doing a little victory dance.

Well, I read a few chapters about a month ago but need to get back to it. So far it's just smut, but I'm hoping that will change. Like I said, I'm only a few chapters into it so it still could be good. It got really good reviews, which is why I decided to read it. (I haven't read any of her books before).

I sort of want to read Teresa Medeiro's new novel, "Goodnight Tweetheart."

Photobucket

It's received really good reviews as well. The only thing stopping me is wondering if the Twitter format will drive me up the wall or not. They say that 90% of the book is in Twitter format. (When I read The Princess Diaries, and... Anne of Windy Poplars?.... a long time ago, the whole letter format I really hated).

But people are saying this new book of hers is really funny and sweet and sort of sad, so that really makes me want to pick it up asap.

What am I talking about? I haven't even read "Dreamfever" by KMM yet! I'm petrified of seeing spoilers about Barrons once "Shadowfever" is released, but there's no way I'm spending that much money on a hardcover again. I think I paid $26 for the "Darkfever" harcover. I swore never to do that again.

Why-oh-why do paperbacks have to sell for close to $10 these days? It's so depressing because there are so many books out there that I want to read. (I don't use the library over here because the people are snobs, and I like to own all the books I read).

Photobucket

Photobucket

What's with all the old Ghost Hunters International team disappearing? I finally got around to reading the rumors and explanations on their forums, but I find it highly suspect that almost ALL of them have left pretty much at the same time.

And while it feels a little strange to have Barry and Kris as leaders of GHI, I kinda like the change. This way I can hear a lot more of Barry's Irish lilt. (He's really the only reason I ever watch that show nowadays. Even GH I've sort of gotten bored with. Barry is a drama queen, but I find that entertaining).

Musical Niece and Nephew + Snow

- While tidying up the garage this week, I came across my old clarinet. I really didn't want to sell it to some stranger, or just pack it away again, so Mom suggested that I ask Autumn if she wants it. She texts her, then my niece answers. She was ecstatic!

Actually, that girl was so excited that the next day she went to the music store and bought a flute!

So now she plays the trumpet for band, and is teaching herself the keyboard, clarinet and flute.

Photobucket

It's funny how competitive my brother is, even with our niece.

Before Christmas, my niece made a joke by unscrambling the letters on our little Charlie Brown scene:

Photobucket

When my brother and SIL came over for Christmas Eve, my brother saw what Autumn had done. Of course, he just had to put his own twist on it.

Photobucket

He says his attempt wins because he spelled out actual words. (Which just proves that he's competitive in EVERYTHING and with everyone).

Road Trip

Current Mood: Photobucket

Photobucket

Mom and I drove to Navasota today to meet Grandma and Uncle Richard.

The purpose of this trip was to give Grandma a lot of the stuff we don't want anymore; from the house and some holiday decorations. Our truck was packed tight in the very back, as well as the backseat. It took both Grandma's car and Richard's truck to haul it all, but Grandma is THRILLED. (Thrilled because she loooves getting free stuff. Half of one of her houses is decorated in stuff we gave her. What she doesn't keep, she puts in garage sales).

It was a really pleasant trip. We only stopped by McDonald's to eat an early lunch. The burger was disgusting - I only like organic meat - but the iced coffee was delicious! The weather was nice today, too, so we ate outside.

My uncle left right after he ate. (He's a sweet, SWEET man by the way).

Speaking of uncles... Uncle John received TERRIFIC NEWS today! He finally got his new truck... the evil ex wife had put a lean on it, so he was having a lot of trouble clearing that up... AND HIS HOUSE SOLD!!!

I'm so thrilled for him. When we heard his message on the machine that the house sold, Mom and I both cheered. Lol! (He lost money on it, but at least he got something).
