It is COLD today! So cold that even the water in our little fountain out back is frozen solid. And this was not just at night, but during THE DAY! This has been the most consistently cold winter that I can ever remember. It sort of warms up, but for the most part it's stayed cold enough to actually wear sweaters almost every day.
Did you hear me? I said SWEATERS!
Translation to Northerners: Sweater weather is big news around here. When the temps dip below 40 degrees, the reporters around here get their typewriters out.
(Okay, so they get the keyboards out. "Typewriters" just has a nicer ring to it. It makes me think of Clark Gable in 'It Happened One Night').
In Austin, it's supposed to be 12 degrees tonight. TWELVE! I don't think I've ever felt cold like that.
The dogs are loving this cold weather a lot. Izzy has really surprised me, wanting out constantly, but I think it's because she wants to eat the bird seed we left out for all the little birdies.
I do hope people aren't stupid enough to leave their pets out in this. We're not used to this kind of weather, so any dogs and cats should be brought inside.
