Friday Blog Hops

I believe it's that's time again. Time for another blog hop or two.

Or three.

Okay, four.

Dear Bluebonnets,
Please be beautiful tomorrow so that I can take your picture.
Photobucket

Dear Iced Mocha,
I will see you again tomorrow. I love you! Photobucket

Dear Rain,
I hope to see A LOT of you this summer, only not tomorrow please.

Dear Wendy Kitty,
I've noticed lately that you seem a little frail. I know you're 16 years old, and your Mama 19, but please stay with us a while longer. I never once even thought of you as an old gal until last week.

Dear Dreams,
Please stop being as dull as watching paint dry. Be amazing like you used to be. Photobucket

Dear Doctor & The Tardis,
Would you please abduct our neighbor's noisy beast of a motorcycle? It's difficult trying to fall asleep when it's screaming just outside my window at night. Photobucket

Better yet, forget the silly motorbike and just take me with you on an adventure!

Dear Thunder,
I'm sorry my little Pomeranian kept growling at you the other day, even though you were very far away at the time. Please don't let her run you off again, because I love listening to you and think you go really well with a good book. Photobucket

1. What giveaway would you like to do on your blog?

Probably a necklace that I made, or my favorite books.

2. If you had to choose between natural artistic ability and natural athletic ability, which would it be?

Artistic, no question.

3. Do you ditch the coat the minute it becomes "spring" or are you a holdout for more cool temps?

What's Spring? Moreover, what in the heck is this "coat" contraption which you speak of?

I don't understand the question. Photobucket

4. What would you do if you won the mega millions lotto of 1/2 billion dollars?

For starters, I would never... never... NEVER take it for granted. I would make sure my family lived comfortably, and I'd help with a lot of charities; especially concerning children and animals. I'd help out deserving people in secret, too. I think that would be so much fun!!!!!!

Also fun-wise, there would be a lot of trips to Disney World. I'd also visit Ireland, Scotland and Italy.

5. You are at a hotel by yourself...what do you do?

If it's a Disney World hotel, like The Wilderness Lodge, I'm having as much fun there as in the parks!

Photobucket Photobucket

I'd be taking a break in one of those comfy chairs, with steaming hot chocolate in my refillable Disney mug. If the hot chocolate is still too warm, I'll be either looking through the pin trading book or watching the kids and ducks swimming in the pool.

These questions are all courtesy of The Little Things We Do.

1. My greatest strength is _______________________.

My open-mindedness, or just simply accepting people as they are.

2. My greatest weakness is _______________________.

McDonald's Iced Mocha and Cappuccino? Being suckered in by the dogs whenever they want a treat after going outside?

Photobucket

I mean, seriously. How could I resist that adorable face?

3. People always compliment me on _______________________.

Ooh, I don't know. I'm not comfortable with compliments, as my greatest desire is to pretty much have the superpower of invisibility.

Hmmm... well, when my hair was longer the kids at school complimented me on it. That, and - oddly enough - my nails. All I do is splash clear polish on them, but for some strange reason they're a fan of long nails.

4. If you found me procrastinating you'd probably find me _______________________.

Taking pictures or playing with the pets.

5. The most cozy place in all the world is _______________________.

A hug from Mom, or sleeping peacefully with Wendy Kitty at my side.

Which is rare, as half the time I'm fussing at Wendy to stop keeping me up, what with all that OCD bathing and extremely loud purring that she does. And then, if I dare interrupt her she bites me. (Believe it or not, she used to be a sweet cat. Her demeanor changed after we moved here).

6. Something new that I tried recently was _______________________.

Can't think of anything. Nope. I guess I'm not very adventurous.

7. This weekend I would like to _______________________.

Win the Texas Lottery.

Izzy says it's her turn to be admired, and that Abby has had more than enough time in the spotlight lately.

All right, Izzy just corrected me. She wants me to use her full given name, "Lady Isabelle Rosie Cotton." What can I say? She's a diva.

I wanted to take some really good video of her playing... believe me when I say this is tame for her... but yet again the camera batteries kept dying. I really need to get those special batteries for this camera. I use it too much to keep using the regular batteries that just drain on me after taking a few snapshots or just a couple videos.

Oh! Izzy Lady Isabelle Rosie Cotton also wanted to tattle on me. She wasn't happy that she got groomed today. The other dogs did, too, but no worries because she made sure to voice her opinion to me about that too. She put me in my place.

There was no need for her to feel sorry for Maddie though, as Maddie actually enjoys being groomed. She likes it because as I comb her, I tell her how her beauty surpasses all the other furkids in the land.

And now Izzy wants me to inform everyone that Maddie's full name is "Maddie Kate Scarlett O'Hara." She's a bossy ball of fluff, but she's a stickler for detail. Photobucket

- This is truly A-m-a-z-i-n-g! I'm gonna be bossy here and just DEMAND that anyone reading this please watch this young man's performance. It will brighten your day. Photobucket

And to think he never would have auditioned if not for his friend. I only hope that their friendship remains stable, as it's clear that Jonathan is definitely going places.
Photobucket
I cannot even begin to imagine being born with such a gift, and then discovering it while still so very young. He is one very lucky individual.

Photobucket

- Pictures... just 'cuz. I still suck at textures, but I'm used to disappointing myself in the creativity department. I'm still sticking to it though.

- On Idol last night, I enjoyed these performances the most.

- I found the most beautiful photos of the Texas bluebonnets last night. They were taken near New Braunsfels. Click on THIS blog to view them.

Seeing those photos really got me excited about possibly seeing the bluebonnets this weekend. I can't wait to take pictures of them! I'll just have to remember to pack a lot of extra batteries since they're always dying on me.

In case you missed it, I have older pics of the bluebonnets posted HERE. Last year we had the drought, so we didn't get to see the beauty's. These photos were probably taken 2 and 3 years ago, by both Mom and myself.

Photobucket

- New, extra footage of the space shuttle video that I posted earlier. It's almost 40 minutes long and shows several different camera angles. I think it was from 5 angles?

I love it around the 9:40 and 22:08 min mark, when the solid rocket boosters are separated. It's a beautiful sight. The part near the end though, around the 31 min mark, with the camera underwater... couldn't watch. It made me feel claustrophobic.

As amazing as this is, the first video HERE is still my favorite. It's edited beautifully, and Skywalker Sound did a fantastic job cleaning up the audio. (Nothing new was added, by the way. Those sounds you're hearing are the real deal).

And I HIGHLY recommend watching both videos in full screen mode.

Photobucket

- Good News!

Photobucket
Remember Abby's "Scary Adventure?" Well, my brother said that Abby always shakes like that the first half hour of a car trip. She's just excited, and we shouldn't worry. He says if she's scared, she'll try to jump out of our arms... which she didn't try even once, so I guess all is well with our little girl.

Our Land - Texas

Current Mood: Photobucket

Photobucket
Since my parents might be going to our 2 acres in La Grange this weekend, to mow the grass, I figured it's time to post some video and photos.

Since there are a lot of things to post, I've decided to make most of them thumbnails. To view them in a larger size, just click on them. Be sure to click on them once Photobucket opens, too, because some of them are larger than others.

Only be forewarned that some of these videos are probably pretty boring (and taken with the older camera which had bad audio). I'm sure I'll delete a few of these later. I haven't watched them all yet. And the cows and donkey are not ours. Those belong to our neighbors. We're just lucky enough to have a view of them. Other than the old barn shed, which is in dire need of repair, we don't have anything else on our land.

Photobucket

These are photos of the road alongside our land:

Some of the first photos taken, before we cut the grass for the first time:

Our dilapidated barn, which we happen to love. It really is huge... 20 ft wide X 80 ft long... so if we ever move out there we're gonna have to tear part of it down.

I love the feeding troughs in there. Mom wants to make it a little workshop for her stained glass:

(I LOVE our barn, but I was so annoyed that the guy who sold my parents the land didn't clear out all the debris as he promised)

Meet "Hugs," whom belongs to one of the neighbors. She was bottle-fed as a baby, and I suspect she thinks she's a cow. Photobucket

The barn again, and the horrible cactus which is now cut down. It took a long time for Mom and Dad to tackle that.

Our neighbor told us that there were twin deer born on our land, beneath the tree. Here's one of them we saw the moment we arrived during one trip there to mow the grass:

A few more of the cows.

And see? Told ya I was obsessed with those "Gods of the Country!"
