I’ll post pictures of our ornaments on another day. I still need to take pictures and video of the outside of the house. Our Christmas lights blink to music, and we have a cute window display.
Please disregard the boring white candle on our pretty golden angel. While placing the Angel back on the mantlepiece, the candle decided to have a great fall a la Humpty- Dumpty style. The candle is chipped and cracked, and so far we haven't found another candle that fits.
Wishlist Wednesday is a book blog hop where we will post about one book per week that has been on our wishlist for some time, or just added (it's entirely up to you), that we can't wait to get off the wishlist and onto our wonderful shelves.
Okay, now this book I've had on my wish list for YEARS, but I can't seem to find it.
Jen Holling offers readers an absorbing and imaginative debut novel with A Time for Dreams. Audrey Williams first visits Drochaid Castle as a ten-year-old while visiting Scotland with her parents. On a tour of the castle, she notices a long, torch-lit corridor that nobody else appears to see. Impulsively, she walks away from the tour group and down the corridor, finding herself in the past. A boy of about sixteen approaches. She notices his red hair and green eyes, then he asks who she is and why is she dressed so strangely? Audrey, nervous, makes to return to the corridor, but the boy tries to grab her and ends up yanking her locket off. Audrey returns to the present day, finds the tour group, and is astonished to see her locket lying in a showcase of jewelry belonging to the Countess of Irvine, from the sixteenth century...
- For the past 2 or 3 days the weather has actually been cold! The other morning, at 7 am it was only 29 degrees!
- Bought a couple Christmas presents for Mom in Old Town Spring today. I'm gonna try to go back to get a few more things, but first I need to start shopping for my brother, SIL and Dad.
- At PetCo today, I fell in love with a bundle of kitty cat's! I went up to their little cubicles, and one of them greeted me so sweetly. It was a beautiful light brown and white cat. It was really talkative, and had the sweetest little voice. Very quiet. It didn't take long for the others to beg for my attention, too. They didn't talk like the other kitty though.
The baby of the bunch was the shyest. I wanted to take them all home so badly, but I like them far too much to subject them to Wendy's evil ways.
I don't know why her personality has changed so much.
- I took some pictures of the Christmas decorations, but haven't uploaded them all yet. I'll do that later this week I guess.

"The Scottish Prisoner" was released today, and it was only two days ago that I discovered JAMIE is in this book.
He's in it so much that the title itself... is him. That's right, Jamie-the-Hot-Scot-and-one-of-my-biggest-fictional-man-crushesIS "The Scottish Prisoner."
Unless Santa puts a winning lottery ticket in my stocking, I'll be waiting for the paperback version. I vowed long ago never again to buy expensive hardcovers. The last one I bought set me back $28!!!

1. Do you wear glasses, contacts, or are you one of those perfect eyed people?
I have contacts, but I never wear them.
2. What is the next item you are going to purchase?
Christmas present for either my SIL or father.
3. Have you ever watched Judge Judy or any other real court show?
No way. I am not a fan of those shows. When I was a kid, my grandfather used to always watch "The People's Court." I wasn't a fan of my grandfather, and I wasn't a fan of his boring court show with people's bickering. I find shows like that very stressful to watch and listen to.
4. How do you feel about fake nails?
I don't need them, so I don't wear them. When I paint my nails I just use clear polish (since color polish will yellow them), and my nails are long already. A lot of the kids at school compliment my nails actually, and I don't really do anything to them.
5. What is your favorite sport to watch?
The sport of.... nothing? Lol!
6. If you could create your own Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor, what would it be and what would it be named?
Hmm.... this is a difficult one because I stay away from ice cream. Probably something simple like orange with dark chocolate and almonds.
No idea what I'd call it. If it was in stores now, they'd probably call it something like "Orange Decadence." (Kinda boring). If I called it something silly like "Orange you gonna eat me?" I bet it'd be a hit with elementary and middle schoolers.
7. Do you have any scars?
Not exactly a scar, but when my brother was little he once stabbed my leg with a pencil. To this day you can see what looks like lead in that leg.
8. Does your pet’s name fit them? Is there a more appropriate name?
Oh, yes! I'm very proud of my pet's names. I think finding the perfect names for your pets is so important.

9. What is your favorite television show theme song?
As a kid, it was The Dukes of Hazzard's theme by Waylon Jennings.
Another favorite, from a while back, was probably Northern Exposure. I LOVED that show!
You also can't go wrong with the Christy and Little Men theme songs. Simple and classical.

10. What was your favorite activity on the playground?
I didn't much care for recess as a kid. I loathed school and just wanted to go back home.
I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! One thing I was grateful for this Turkey Day was that the weather was actually cool! It felt so wonderful.
When the kids were here (so very briefly) my niece shared with us the video below. It is so adorable!!! Who knew learning to ride a bike could be such an inspiration? This kid should be a life coach. He's so cute!

I haven't been feeling very Christmasy, and this year my mother and I were thinking of not even bothering putting up the tree. (Which is just us lying to ourselves because we do love our ornaments and our tree always looks nice. People come over just to see it).
But yesterday afternoon I decided to silence the Grinch inside because we started putting up the Christmas tree anyway. True to form, it took allday. When I finally thought I was finished, and then cleaned up, I went to the garage to look for the box that the stocking holders were in.
Imagine my shock, and then horror, to discover that an entire box of ornaments was on one of the shelves. At first, I was so PO-ed because Mom and I had all of the ornament bins together just days ago, but then someone - my father, aka Darth Vader at that specific moment in my day - put them back on the shelf without telling us. I was tired to the bone... my toes felt like they were being stabbed by needles... my arm was so sore from tripping over the darn pet gate just minutes earlier (I was putting away the stereo and boxes. Lesson learned: Don't step over a pet gate with your arms full)... and looking forward to a long hot bath, but here I was now standing over yet MORE ornaments to take out of their boxes and try to find a place for on the already-overcrowded tree.
We put up the tree at around 11 am, and I finished sometime after 11 pm I think.
Tiring? Um, yeah.
Was it worth it? Most definitely.

My uncle is getting married today! I love THIS card that I found for the wedding couple. My uncle has had a really tough past couple of years. I'm sure that this time last year he had no clue his life was going to turn around so much. It still isn't perfect, but finding your soulmate is a fantastic start don't ya think?
He's known her since she was something like 18. He saved her life once, and she's his best friend's sister actually. Isn't that sweet? (What's also sweet is that after they became engaged, one of the dates he was thinking of getting married on was my birthday).
I wish he and his lady love the best of luck, because they deserve it!

Books, copics, a new camera so that I can flush the one I have down the toilet, or an iphone.

A couple of Pepperidge Farm cookies(Milano and Geneva)with my cup of cappuccino. We didn't have a big Thanksgiving meal this year.

Not to take life too seriously, try not to fret over the little things, and to accept people as they are. People don't often change.

My one dream of becoming published coming true before they plant me in the ground.(Of course, at the moment I'm at a crossroads with the writing).
There's a limerick contest going on over at Knatolee's World. I've never written a limerick before, and had no intention of entering. I'm not a poet (that's my grandmother's domain), but a couple weeks later decided on a whim to write one anyway.
I'm sure I must have broken the rules in "limerick law," but I just had fun with it. Writing shouldn't always be so serious. I only hope the limerick police (cousins to the grammar police) don't find out where I live.
