Drum Roll....

Photobucket
Here are vids and pics of our Christmas lights for this year. We finished everything tonight, including the window scene!

And surprise, surprise… the flash you see near the end (1:03 mark) of the first video below is yet another transformer blowing in the neighborhood. Thankfully, the electricity only went out for a couple seconds, and our outside lights weren’t affected.

Naturally, not all the yard lights appear in the pictures, as the lights are flashing to music.

FYI - Mom and I aren't fans of the snowflake lights on the wreath. On the box, it said they were WHITE snowflake lights; definitely not BLUE. :/

Also, I hate the wire showing in the window. I never saw it (since I was up there on that ledge putting it all together, and I couldn't go outside to look). It doesn't bother Mom, but it bothers me.... A LOT! I want to get back up there to fix it, but there's now way in hell Mom will allow that. She was so afraid for me being up that high.

I swear that I'm going to have bad dreams about that eyesore of a wire showing. That damned wire will haunt me for all of December and well into the new year.

Of Villages and Furkids

Photobucket

I can't seem to fall asleep, so I might as well post some pictures.

- I can see definite flaws in my Christmas Village, but I only have so much room to work with. I think I'll be adding more trees soon.

After I add extra trees and hopefully find some more powdered snow (which so far I haven't seen in any store this year), I'll take video of the whole thing. (The pics below are just two small sections of it).

- HERE is a pic of Maddie that I took last week. ALWAYS is this girl smiling pretty. We *wub* her very much. :o)

- Click HERE to see our miniature tree scene with the doves decorating it.

- It's an Old Fashioned Charlie Brown Christmas.

- This past week Tiger Lily decided to make the laundry basket her new bed. The lass is 18 years old, so since she claims seniority in this house we decided to let her have her way.

We even drape the warming blanket over her from time to time, which she REALLY LOVES!

Snowmen Melt My Heart

Photobucket

Larger Pic

Don't ya just love our new snowman with the Christmas tree? I've decided he's Doyle's twin, and that their names should at least begin with the same letter. Mom named him "Dudley," which I think is the perfect name for him.

Boring Saturday

Photobucket

- See our new snowman? (He's a bobblehead!) Mom named him "Doyle," after someone she knew in high school and whom passed away several years ago.

We're going to get another snowman to balance it out; a lady we think.

- Finally put up the Christmas Village. It took several hours, but I need to buy more smaller trees to hide a large area where the powdered snow just won't stick. It's driving me crazy the way it is now. (So is the crooked tree in this pic).

Photobucket

- See THIS pic I found a while back of Disney's Wilderness Lodge? I swear the people in the background are my mother and father!!! Cool, huh?

A long time ago they spent their wedding anniversary there. They stayed at the lodge, and it was Christmastime. There's almost no doubt in my mind that the man is my father, and the woman in the pic was wearing a low ponytail, which Mom always wore back then.

Here's a cropped version of the pic:

- I wish they would stop making changes to Photobucket. I loathe the way it is now. It's slower and not very user friendly. I'm tired of them constantly "improving" it.

Decorating Burnout

Photobucket
- My niece, just like her brother did a few years ago, got to play a solo of TAPS at school on Veteran's Day. She did so well that her music teacher cried. Even the high school band director walked up to her to speak to her. He mentioned how he can't wait for her to join the marching band next year. (He's the one that says Luke is the best marcher he's ever had in the history of his career. I swear it's from all that Tung Su Do that he did since he was a kid. The discipline).

- Luke is FINALLY going to be home late tonight. All week he's been in Indianapolis with the marching band for their final competition. (Update: he got home after 2:30 AM!)

- Mom had a really strange experience at Walmart the other day while I was at school. I'll mention it on my paranormal blog sometime later. Mom also dreamed about my Grandma.

- All our indoor Christmas decorations are up, except for the village. I didn't really want to put everything up so dang early, but now I'm very glad it's over with. I'll post pics below.

Mom bought another snowman for the dining table scene, but we're going to buy another one this week to balance it out. I'll take pics when we have both of them.

- My brother got the most AWESOME webcam! It has a motion sensor, so it sort of follows you and will zoom in randomly. The picture and sound quality are perfect!

Lance was hilarious by the way. My brother loooves being the center of attention. While he and Laura were using the webcam, he was being silly and you could tell that even their dog (Abby) was used to this.

These are the kinds of things he did: Place bananas on Laura's head... hand her this big wooden duck that he had on the fridge... switch the lights off and on... open the fridge door and then leave the room (this was to drive our father crazy if he ever got on the webcam, too)... taking a picture off the wall and then shoving it in front of the webcam so we could see it... run around the couch... hide behind the couch, and then peek over the couch before hiding again.
