Wanted: Decorating Fairy

It's been a busy day so far, in terms of cleaning up after the animals and doing laundry. Little Izzy is having tummy troubles, too, so I'm keeping a close eye on the little lass.

After things started calming down my mind went back to something I've been pondering lately, which is that I am really growing tired of my bedroom. If there were fairy godmother's in this world, I'd have summoned one months ago to wave her magic wand and get down to some serious Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo-ing. I'd have her splash some COLOR on the walls!

I am so very tired of the bland tan. It's so Blah. You can't tell in the pictures below, but there are little grayish-blue stripes on my comforter. It's really pretty, so I'm thinking of painting the walls that color.

And yes, it's true. Wendy thinks that my room is in fact her palace. I'm pretty sure she thinks of my bed as her throne.

Yes siree. There are now 143 books in my TBR pile, seeing how another book at the antique mall managed to jump off the shelf and into my hands.

I guess it's a good thing they only had the one book from my list; The Proposition by Judith Ivory. I read a lot of reviews stating that this was a fun read, so I'm glad I found it.

Still, this TBR pile of mine has to start diminishing at some point.

How adorable is he when he jokes about being afraid of water now? Our Gerry can't even help his Mum wash the dishes after Christmas dinner anymore.

He does look really happy these days. I'm very glad to hear he's okay.

Yes, it's a new day and it's time these hands took a break in making cappuccinos every night and turning the pages of a book which, quite frankly, is boring me to tears. Instead, these hands need to grab hold of some round nosed pliers and jump rings and start making more necklaces!

And earrings, yes. Making earrings bores me almost as much as the book I've been reading, but it's a necessary evil.

I haven't made any jewelry in a while. (The supplies are so expensive). Not since I mailed a bunch of them to my aunt, for her to sell to her husband's congregation. Thankfully, they all just sold.



Actually, scratch that. The last one's that I made weren't what I mailed to my aunt, because I did make a few as Christmas presents for family.

For months now I've been on the lookout for another owl charm. I really want to make more of these to sell, because I am just so fond of that little owl.



My sister's Paris necklace. I made one for Mom a while back, and my sister wanted one too, so I made her one for Christmas.

The rest of my necklaces can be found HERE. I really want to start trying out new designs. I've only started making jewelry a few months ago. Once ya get going, it's almost as addictive as Pinterest.

I've always loved The Language of Flowers from Victorian Times, but I'd never thought of each birth month being represented by a particular flower.

For the month of January, it's the beautiful CARNATION that takes center stage.

Victorian Language:

General: Affection, health & energy
Pink: Mother's Love, or I'll never forget you
Red: Admiration, my heart is aching
Solid colored: Yes, acceptance
Striped: Refusal, no, I can't be with you
White: Pure love, innocence, good-luck gift to a woman

I've decided that for my very first "Cat Thursday," the spotlight should go to our eldest cat of 19 years. Her name is "Tiger Lily" ... yes, another Disney name... and she most definitely ADOPTED US.

It would be foolish of me to state otherwise.

Saw Beauty and the Beast in 3D today!

I know I'm dating myself here, but I haven't seen it in the theater since it was released my senior year of high school! My best friend went on and on about how I needed to see it. She was obsessed with the ballroom scene especially, because of the golden chandelier. (That was back when digital started for the first time, so it was a huge deal). At the time, I thought she was off her rocker because the previews kept including the "Be our Guest" scene. I thought that a singing candlestick and dancing silverware was pretty ridiculous and reserved for Kindergartners, so I wasn't planning on seeing it.

Needless to say, my family (minus Dad) are Disney freaks, so of course we all went to the movies to see it one weekend. I was shocked at how much I loved it. I remember being really surprised that even the music didn't bore me. (Usually, I fast forward through the musical numbers in most flicks).

Seeing the movie in 3D was worth it for the beginning alone. The outside of The Beast's castle looked AMAZING!!!!!! When it's released on dvd, I'm going to wear out those scenes. There was also one beautiful shot of inside the castle. It was the long distance shot, when The Beast is taking Belle to her room, and growling to her about staying away from the West wing. (Clearly, The Beast doesn't understand that we bookworms are curious folk. 'Forbidden' to a bookworm = Ready, Set, Go!)

If you're a fan of Beauty and the Beast (how can anyone not be a fan?) do please try to see it in 3D while it's still out. Just remember to bring your own candy and drinks. Would you know a SMALL cherry coke at our theater cost $4.00?! And when I say small, I do mean small. The tickets were insanely priced, too. For two people, it cost $18.00, and the screen it was on wasn't even the largest one there. It was one of the small one's. We went to the "cheaper" first showing, too.

Still, despite the robbery of the prices (and an unclean theater), it really was well worth it. Also, before the movie they showed a preview of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace!



I think my mother and I both just about peed in our pants. I cannot wait to see it in 3D, and I had no clue it was being released as soon as next month. The only thing that worries me is that it's advertised as being released for ONE DAY only. There's no way everyone that wants to see it will be able to if they do this. Surely it's a little sneak peek/teaser showing before the larger release. God, I sure hope so.

I want to see all the Star Wars movies in 3D on one of the larger screens. I really hope this one will be successful, because if it is Lucas says he's going to release the others in 3D as well. Personally, I would LOVE to see Attack of the Clones the most. Can you imagine how awesome the lightsaber battles would be in 3D? It'll be nice to see the planet Naboo, but come on... YODA kicking some serious Dooku @ss? Not only that, but Obi-Wan in AOTC is my favorite character. He's so sexy!

Anyway... if you're a Belle/Beast fanatic like myself, please do see it. It's great.
